Noramco, Inc., a member of Johnson and Johnsons Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Staff Project Engineer, located in Athens, GA.
Noramco, Inc. produces a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and is a major worldwide producer of medicinal analgesics, pharmaceutical intermediates and synthetic fine organic chemicals. It also produces monomers and polymers for pharmaceutical and medical devices.
The Staff Project Engineer will plan, conduct and direct assigned capital projects (including large, open ended and loosely defined and highly complex projects) from start to completion. They will assist and mentor less Staff project engineers/managers with engineering and/or project management support on other projects. Manage database of department projects in the corporate Project Portfolio Management system. Develop and implement processes to maintain accurate information and projections of status for current and pending projects. Provide technical expertise to production and/or project teams in regards to existing or new processes. They will also troubleshoot plant upsets and identify improvements to existing plant infrastructure to drive efficiency, quality and safety.
The Staff Project Engineer will be responsible for obtaining bids, writing Capital Appropriation Requests and managing multiple projects from initiation through construction and qualification in a cGMP compliant manner. (Includes developing cost estimates and project schedules for assigned projects.) They will monitor and drive priorities and timelines for assigned projects while working to control costs and expenses to agreed upon budgets within the framework of the Engineering Project Controls system. Handles multi:million dollar projects with limited supervision and oversight.
They will also develop and execute OQ, PQ and PV protocols for assigned projects resolving any issues regarding content, format and approval in conjunction with the quality organization. Develop and manage a fully integrated, start:up, training and execution plan that includes commissioning and qualification, ensuring cost effectiveness with respect to resource utilization while maintaining continuity throughout. Self identifies improvement projects to forward Engineering Department and Site needs, develops these and brings them forward to site management as proposed projects for execution. Interact and coordinate activities with operating personnel, production engineers, QC, QA personnel and maintenance to accomplish assigned projects with minimal interference with other functions and incorporate other functions knowledge and expertise.
The Staff Project Engineer will maintain the corporate Project Portfolio Management system database with current status and current projections of active and pending projects, the resource (staffing) requirements to support this list of projects and the cash flow schedules of this list of projects. They will develop and implement processes that improve information gathering and accuracy. Works with department management, maintenance department management and site management to develop and maintain a Capital Master Plan. Takes ownership of the capital process, driving alignment and performance throughout the organization.
The Staff Project Engineer troubleshoots and organizes solutions for processing and equipment problems. Gathers "voice of the customer" input, focusing on root cause of issues and identifying the most robust, least complex solution for implementation. Writes reports of findings. Reviews processes and takes action to ensure that cGMP and Safety procedures and regulations have been addressed and followed. Develops and evaluates new concepts to stay competitive and current with the industry. Specifies design parameters for equipment required for new initiatives.
